In this research, the influence of interface roughness on the tunneling behavior of normal metal–d-wave superconductor junctions are investigated. Utilizing scattering theory and solving the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations, Andreev and normal reflection coefficients are calculated, through which the tunneling conductance is analyzed. The results demonstrate that if the orientation of the superconducting crystal is slightly deviated from the line perpendicular to the interface, the presence of interface roughness leads to the disappearance of zero-bias conductance peaks (ZBCP). Furthermore, the physical origin of the suppression of these zero-bias peaks is explained. This study represents an effective step towards providing more accurate models for tunneling behavior in modern superconducting systems and bridges the gap between idealized models and the real conditions of the interface.
