The study of dark energy models shows that some certain types of future cosmological singularities may appear. These singularities are classified in this paper. Using a general scalar-tensor gravity as a varying speed of light theory, we have shown that the existence of a sudden future singularity does not lead to the divergence of the speed of light. Moreover, it is possible to regularize some of the future singularities within this theory.
